From my research on our second conceptual framework, I have gathered many different ideas on when I can apply myself as an educator. These ideas focus on the sociology and psychology of the classroom and how it plays a role in the development of a child/adolescent. In my research, I gathered that social anxiety and anxiety in general is an extreme epidemic within the classroom and there has been more research established about it in the last decade than in all previous years before.
Social anxiety is a major influence on how a student does academically and socially within school. Anxiety can also be stemmed from school experiences and reinforce negative experiences in an educational setting forever changing the actions of the student. An educator needs to realize the mental health of the students and there is a correlation between mental health and academic progress. To approach this epidemic many researchers have done many surveys which I have been reading from the journal. I have learned some of the approaches these doctors have used to record social anxiety disorder in the classroom.
Another aspect is addressing mental health classifications to better approach the needs of students. My research revolves around Social Anxiety Disorder(SAD) which is a hyponym for anxiety and its many subcategories. For educators, it is important to classify these disorders to intervene based on the developmental level of the adolescent.
In my research for my framework, I have already discovered very important research to help me make decisions within my educational education, and learning about my interest in development overall benefits me as a teacher and a student.
The process of exploring a question of interest can be both enlightening and empowering.
